Rabbi Fischel Cohen - Student Affairs

Rabbi Fishel Cohen is the longest serving university chaplain. He was appointed as chaplain to the Midland Region in 1984 and has served the ever increasing number of Jewish students in the 14 universities across the region since then. Born and raised in Manchester, after completing his schooling Rabbi Cohen went to Yeshiva in Israel and then to Rabbinical College in the USA where he received his Rabbinical ordination. During his five years in New York he was very involved in community and other outreach work.

Rabbi Cohen is ably assisted in his work by his wife Esther and their four boys. He was recently appointed to the Chief Rabbi's cabinet, with responsibility for student affairs.
