Prayer for Victims of Terror in London on 7/7/2005 Special Prayers for Shabbat Parshat Chukkat 5765 In the aftermath of the terror attacks on London Those who wish to say Psalms should recite any of the following: 1. Psalm 55 (not in the Singer's Prayer Book) 2. Psalm 3 (SPB p. 761) 3. Psalm 124 (SPB p. 465) 4. Psalm 94 (SPB p, 139) Alternatively, one may recite the three verses: ![]() (SPB p. 135) Prayer: Father of mercy in whose hands are the souls of the living and the dead, hear our prayers on behalf of the victims of the terrorist attacks this week in London. Send, we pray you, healing to the injured and comfort to the bereaved. Shelter beneath the shadow of your wings. the souls of those who died. Protect the people of this city from terror and fear, as it is written: "You shall not fear terror by night, nor the arrow that flies by day." Bring the evildoers to justice and frustrate the plans of those who seek evil against us, so that all may know that You are the G-d of life who commands us to sanctify life. May this be Your will and let us say: Amen. |
